I was surfing one of my favorite pastimes in the morning 'perezhilton.com' and I see an ad called 'introducing the Dereon Girls Collection"

I then researched it on the web and a lot of people are saying these clothes are

'inappropriate' for kids of this age group. But when I look at another ad:

I do not see anything wrong with the clothes. Despite the boa and hats, high heels in th first ad, the clothes are cute. However, if you live in the 'non posh life', like in Atlanta, GA,Detroit,MI, Hartford, CT,Dresden, Germany,etc.. you won't see kids wearing these clothes. To be honest, this is good for teens in high school or better yet college and even better than that, post college! Personally I wouldn't want my daughter under 14 wearing these clothes because:

1. kid are cruel and if she was a preteen, she would be made fun of wearing posh clothes

and

2. The only clothes from this collection so far I would let her wear is in the second ad. But I am more of a girlie type of person.

and the shoes, I think need to be more age appropriate, the ad is creative do not get me wrong, I just think the shoes need to be more of their age. But I get it, the 'high heels' look like 'play shoes'. However some parents might get the wrong message and will put them off and not buy the products being sold. IF the high heels are going to be sold for these girls of this age group then that will definitely put people off of the product.

on the website, the clothes reminds me of 'baby phat'. (correct that, I like baby phat clothes :) ). Also the price of "$30.00" is a little too much..especially with this economy! Personally I wouldn't pay 30 bucks for a shirt that a kid outgrows. Now if it was for me, I would buy it since I am done with growing!

People have their own tastes however, this is something I like. What do you think? discuss it in the Mom's Word Forum

Title: also....
oh and I know about modeling, I was a model. But there is a difference with modeling and photos... the clothes would have been fine is the kids were in a different position or dressed differently. Apparently you don't know anything about modeling smilies/wink.gif.

Title: hi....
its not the clothes that I have a problem with, it is the ad, the way the kids are in the AD that I have a problem with.

Title: Pointless.
If you dont like the AD. Dont buy the clothes, its a very simple task. Im not a parent nor adult either but still, you grown ups are acting like you know everything! Like Beyonce dress those child models the way she wants to. They should be proud to wear to wear those clothes and rock it too. Also, it not like they were make up everyday! Its not even heavy make up, its lipstick... WOW now all of a sudden my daughter is becoming a prostitute!! Nooo! They are models, and leave them alone, they like what they're wearing (because they're paid to do it), so leave them alone they arent your kids. smilies/angry.gif
